I am most proud to be Canadian because I am a citizen of a beautiful country that is understanding, compassionate and accepting of differences. When I travel outside Canada there is such a cool response when you say you are Canadian. All are in awe and want to visit Canada.
The tip I would give to a newcomer to Canada is that the LOONIE and TOONIE are real money!
I am a graduate of Holy Cross Secondary School as well Niagara College with certificates in College Exploration and Pre-Community Services. I am very proud of my commitment to my community as an Usher for the Niagara Ice Dogs and the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre.
I have been a Special Olympics athlete for 16 years. In July 2015 I was honoured to represent Canada in the Special Olympic World Games in Los Angeles California. I was thrilled to capture Gold in Women’s Division 1, 9 Hole Play at Canada’s first appearance in golf at World Competition. In addition to Special Olympics Golf on Sundays at Legends on the Niagara Chippawa Course, I play basketball, softball and bowl with Special Olympics and am a member of the CYO Jr. Ice Dog Hockey Team. I currently sit on the Special Olympics Ontario Board of Directors as the Athlete Representative which has allowed me to be involved with Special Olympic initiatives in Ontario, Canada and North America. I enjoy hip hop dance, movies, music and travelling (especially if it includes golf).
